I just don't get why some men, mostly incels, obsess over getting a girlfriend as if it will suddenly fix their issues and problems

Because for males being loved by a beautiful woman is as euphoric as an opiate injection. They don't want to fix their issues and problems, they want a free and legal drug about which the consensus in society is that “everyone deserves it and is capable of getting it”.
