Reading Doll's comment on his AMA, I think there is literally no way to save the sharty anymore

The sharty's culture has been dying for months, and it's biggest thing rn is still slopjaks, which is an exclusive 'ru creation.
Most of the people who used to be part of oldfag culture have left, and it seems like the average age of the sharty user has decreased a lot.
I can't attest to the difference in gore spam and political discussions, but my guess is that those too have increased.

It seems to me there's been a downward spiral going on where the site gets shittier, and good productive members leave, making the site shittier, making decent members leave, et cetera.
I blame that mostly on the bad actors that are 'cord members, obsessed splinter spammers and overly sensitive political teenagers who spam gore at the first offense, but also on the fact that nothing interesting has been happening, or at least less and less. But the two are correlated, bad actors who are usually teenagers are incapable of patience and participation in slowburn projects, therefore there are none.

And it isn't going to be better, it's just gonna keep getting worse until the sharty turns into the jarty, and that's the bottom line.

The only way one could save the sharty is by somehow getting rid of all the bad actors, which is something every admin has been trying and failing to do, and somehow bring in more good posters, but I honestly don't see how that happens.
Don't get me wrong I wish for the sharty to succeed, but I don't think it's possible at this state

I think that the true cause of this is that 'jakking was sort of a flash in the pan caused by a multitude of factors, one of which being covid. Basically throughout history there are moments where culture is created in a short and wild time and then things settle down. I simply think that 'jakking is a very local and small version of this. It is impossible to keep the momentum going forever, after some time something new will take its place on the internet and 'jaks will take their place in history. This is a natural and unavoidable process. Don't be sad it is over, or dying, be happy that it happened.

This seems to be the real issue, soyboys were a phenomena that pretty much died down. I don't even see the insult thrown around anymore. There was a huge influx of bugmen content during covid which fueled 'jakking for a while but now that's over and forgotten and 'jaks are getting stale. At this point the soysphere is basically dedicated to a dead meme, that's why it's getting so meta and absurd, it's a sign of dying... Queue slopjaks. And just look at /jak/ (dead board albeit), half of it is referential, meta or ironic. And it's also the case on other boards, 'jaks have simply run their course it seems. Maybe the muttistan elections give it a second wind, maybe not, who's to say.

While I do think the culture is getting stale it is still a fun site. 4cuck forgot how to have fun while the sharty embraces it.
