If we are stuck at 10k-20k ppd for the next few years, that would be acceptable if we preserved 'arty culture. However, I would prefer the site be 300k ppd if 'arty culture was preserved in the process.

It wouldn't all be on /soy/. The big thing holding the 'arty's ppd count is the inactive altboards. Only so many people have the mental fortitude to use /soy/, but the altboards give room for new members to join and new communities to form. All it takes is a handful of users to start colonizing aboard and they explode. Look at /pol/. I'm 90% sure like 5 booruGods just decided to start posting there a few months ago and now it's the second most active board. If 5 people just started using /mtv/ or /x/, they'd become active in a month.
