Game Development Guides and Resources for Those Who Need It

i have very painful experiences with games that avoided this
I don't have a game design document but I do have loads of text files with ideas that plan everything out before I make a game if that counts and I highly recommend it even if what you are doing is going off of memory and creativity only.

absolutely true
proper prior planning prevents pitifully poor performance

quake 3 has more working features than kekdot
even a working implementation of raytracing
is quake good for anything other than fps games doe?
at that point just make shit using the source engine.
needless to say but the quake engine doesn't support modern technology we could benefit from today however, and can easily have bad performance on modern and low end pcs if you're bad at optimization. as for the 2016 computer argument, im not sure if i agree. i find the suggestion to use quake funny but ultimately impractical, as self admitted, there are no tutorials and the language is probably very hard, unlike GDScript.

anyways somewhat ironically or unironically, roblox is shaping up to be a good game dev engine these days, but as for the platform itself, not really., because its very predatory in a lot of ways.

no godot game cant match quake 3 in performance no matter how much you optimize.

bloodthief can't even run on low end pc from 2011, for example skyrim can run on pc from 2008 and has way better graphics than bloodthief

you're suggesting we use an engine from like 2004 which was designed for fps games to make our shit?
