look at the situations of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, both are on the island of Hispaniola, both suffer the same natural disasters that people say is the reason why haiti sucks, but in reality they are completely different in terms of quality of life and gdp and overall being good
why is this? well the dominican republic was colonized, and haiti was just used as slave land, wasnt colonized, but haiti is one of the worst places to live on on this earth, and the dominican republic is doing just fine, not perfect or great, but miles ahread of haiti
