Every hour you work you are being stolen from

This is wrong, the value of a commodity is defined by the socially necessary labor time required for its production, and you're conflating price with value.
I reject your idea of value, there is no concrete way to describe a desire to own something, demand is different from one market to another and thus results in different prices. If price and value are different, then the supposed surplus value and becomes unquantifiable

Value just describes how long it takes for a commodity to be produced in an area. Price is related to value since you need to recoup the losses from producing that commodity, but it's also influenced by supply and demand.

karl marx explains this in his theory of surplus value. lets say you work 8 hours per day at the soyjak factory. in these 8 hours you produce 100 gems which go on to be sold for 10 dollars each on the market. but you are only paid 5 dollars per hour for your labor. less than the value you produce for Froot. While you made 40 dollars, Froot makes 460 dollars. the money that is produced by you but are taken from you is called surplus value. while the dollars you earn is a wage. surplus value is the appropriation of unpaid labor, the capitalist buys the labor power at its full value as a commidity on the market yet extracts more value than it then paid for.
You bumbling RETARD, Froot has to run the soyjak factory, find buyers of the soyjaks, and has to maintain and plan the development of the soyjak brand. Of course Froot is going to profit off the gems more since he is providing the tools and the business for you to make the goods in the first place and for the goods to have any sort of fixed value. Not to mention how this concept is completely irrelevant when talking about commissions and contractors. Get DEBUNKED

I spend countless hours working on something for fun that machines can make pretty easily. Just because I put a bunch of time into it doesn't mean it has any value.

Socially necessary labor time is the average, and I don't think you're getting paid or selling it in your scenario.

The problem is that said labor would not be able to produce value without the resources the capitalist provides doe, otherwise everyone would just be self employed.

Valid point, the answer is to go into the gem Business for yourself, which is impossible now due to minimum wages that only established large companies can pay, and government regulations that only allow grandfathered in employers to exist. Socialism has never been a lasting solution.

the government should pay me for making gems o algo

communism is dumb doe, but so is a lot of neoliberal capitalism (socialism without "socialism" pretty much)
neoliberal capitalism is socialism but you get all the nastiness of socialism without the benefits of it, therefore it is inferior. I'm not against having a market economy but modern capitalism has devolved into a worse form of socialism

Neoliberalism and socialism are literally opposites, what part of neoliberalism has common ownership of the means of production

You can only make 100 gems due to the machine froot provides.
