I got it at a pretty decent rate of $100 which is on the high end of the average I pick up from usual sales, that's actually the mini version of the plush as there is one of dex accurate victini from the same line that usually runs around $1000, $800 if you get lucky.

this really shouldn't be surprising to me since there are similar prices for all kinds of things (comics or funkopops for example), but i always find it hard to imagine there's actually someone out there spending thousands of dollars on things like that

Oh there's a market for stuff like that, I don't think I'm spend $1000 on a doll obsessed but its definitely the best victini plushie, the only one I know of that's rarer is one that was only sold by lottery back in 2011 and there were only 100 sold. He's sitting on top of a master ball and the only one for sale on the internet I can find is on japanese mercari for $1500.
