and the soundtrack is absolute fucking peak. halo 2 has a better soundtrack but halo ce still has one of the best soundtrack of ALL TIME and its not even closeHalo combat evolved is better. Someone introduced me to it and I totally agree.
unlike call of duty and og of doom EVERY WEAPON IS DIFFERENT AND VIABLE.
Plasma weapons do better at shields than health
bullet weapons do better at taking down health than shields
Every enemy is unique game-play wise. Unlike doom or cod where "variation's" or different enemy's just look different and you mindlessly take them down(no strategy no using certain weapons, just use any weapon and shoot). Every enemy and I mean EVERY enemy is different in gameplay and ascetics.
For example grunts are the low cannon fodder. They have no energy shields so using plasma weapons is not as effective compared to bullet weapons. They throw grenades, and come in packs. weak on there own but when together can make a difficult challenge.
Jackals are the shields. They have giant energy shields(an actual shield) with a little spot on the right where you can shoot them in the leg with a precision weapon. causing them to bring down the shield to finish off with a headshot. You want to use precision weapons on these guys however plasma weapons can also get through there shields to. They can hold a choke hold incrediably well and rapid fire at you.
The elites are you equals. they can do everything you as a player can and have energy shields. The best way to take them down is to use plasma weapons to take down there shields as like I said before plasma weapons are better at taking down shields. and then use a bullet weapon to take away there health. If you throw a sticky gernade at them they will charge at you and try to kamachaze you. They can throw gernades, use vechiles, and Command troops in battle.
Sentinals are giant laser spewing robots. they have energy shields and have a big weakness which is plasma weapons. bullet weapons arent as effitive but plasma weapons destroy these guys.
This is just a small roster of the huge amount of enemys in this game. Now notice something all between them. In doom and call of duty you can just get any weapon and go on a masscure. However in halo on legendary or herioc if you want to survive you have to use a mix of weapons, there is no one size fits all weapon. Your constantly using different weapons and stragetys Making split second decisions. do I throw the gernade on the grunt which causes him to run to his squad and maybe kill multiple enemys. or do I use it on the big elite who will run twoards me and I will guarentee not kill multiple enemys. do I give away my sniper for the plasma weapon to deal with the sentienals etc. Every enemy has strenghts and weaknesses that your CONSTANTLY thinking about. Every weapon is useful. In order to survive you have to use a mix of plasma weapons, assult rifles, percision weapons, power weapons, and special weapons like the needler(which lock onto enemys)
Plus everything in halo ce is fair. 99% of the time when you die its your own fault. everything that can instantly kill you is telegraphed and told to you before it happens. Energy sword elites will roar and do a animation with there bright glowing sword before charging at you and instakilling you giving you time to react, realize the threat and prepare. your making a bunch of split second decisions in the game that no other fps has given me. Its actually strategic.
halo ce is able to acutally have startgey in a fps game and have it be fun.Buy Halo Wars 1 and 2. If you love strategy-focused games you will leak your clitty over them. They're not best ou algo but they are very good thoughbeit.
It does seem that way a lot of the times. Even back then, a lot of people who bought COD bought it for the multiplayer, not campaign. I think the main interest in the campaign for most COD titles is the story and immense variation of weapons (COD4 is missing this GEG. A lot of the weapons are just generic terroristgame guns.) It only becomes strategic when you play it on Veteran difficulty, which makes you actually think about the weapon you're bringing into combat and what tactic you're gonna use for said weapon. You should try it sometime whenever you decide trying these older CODs again. I think you'll like it more.I played cod:4 back in the day and it was so boring. Just grab any gun and shoot, take cover. No stragety or thought. at most it was just reaction times.
The thing is that veteran is not fair as a difficulty unlike halo ce legendary. Everything in halo ce is fair, and telegraphed. but yeah people mostly play cod for the multiplayer. It does seem that way a lot of the times. I think the last COD game that stuck to its roots of good storytelling was COD:WaW. Everything else after that seemed so fucking excessive, even Ghosts which tried to do something more somber.
Wordswordswords but yeah I also kinda like strategic FPS games.
It is unfortunate that COD falls short in this regard. Either TSMT. The soundtrack is keyed but I'm not a big fan of the setting myself. The thing is that veteran is not fair as a difficulty unlike halo ce legendary.

It was open sourced.
I agree halo is good but one thing to consider is they had much better hardware and more capable team, doom couldn't afford more complicated AI than shoot->move or blindly run at.Halo combat evolved is better. Someone introduced me to it and I totally agree.

>I :transheart: slow ass tactical shooters that take 90 gorillion years to completetrvthnvke: prey and deus ex are better than wolfenstein and doom
Prey doesn’t take that long albeit, also “tactical” lol that’s arma or something, these are actually fun, even mankind divided and human revolution are glistening gemeralds>I :transheart: slow *** tactical shooters that take 90 gorillion years to complete

Also Wolfenstein (both modern and old) is a jewish psy-op trying to convince you that the Nazis were the bad guys or whatever
mankind divided and human revolution are shorter by the way if that’s the biggest detractorPrey doesn’t take that long albeit, also “tactical” lol that’s arma or something, these are actually fun, even mankind divided and human revolution are glistening gemeralds

I think they're mid. Don't have any extreme opinion about them. They're just generic scifi games.@JC Denton what do you think of the newer deus ex games?
I agree with human revolution, but not so much mankind divided, I think it’s very improved, albeit botched and made shortI think they're mid. Don't have any extreme opinion about them. They're just generic scifi games.
not anymore, its trannycore
