I'm on the part after they capture Alyx now. Fighting through City 17 was really boring since it's just constant fighting so the downtime where you get to explore is le good

Ravenholm is super overrated and was a shitty time for the game to give you the shotgun, the game incentives you to only use the grav gun (which is a crap gimmick in of itself).

I prefer the atmosphere of the coast and white forest to ravenholm. It feels desolate or something

also food for thought but in half life 1 you're just trying to escape/stop the resonance cascade, but in half life 2 your arrival is what's fucking everything up. I always thought that was a cool progression.

In half life one the penultimate chapter of the game before you go to xen is Forget About Freeman, in half life two the penultimate chapter of the game is Follow Freeman. Probably a coincidence but I think it says something.

Highgay 17 is probably the worst chapter albeit. I don't recall there being a specific section of it that was exceptionally better than the rest of the chapter.

I wouldn't say it's the worst but it isn't very eventful, i liked the bridge segment and the crane segment but there is barely anything beyond that.

The bridge part is the only good part. The New Little Odessa is a retarded speedbump as well as the lighthouse in Sandtraps

I liked the lighthouse part where you fight the gunship, i like all the gunship fights, best one was the Nova Prospekt gunship battle THOUGH.
