what are your thoughts on half-life?

Solution
Half-Life is keyed in every way shape and form, the original game is actually my #1 favorite of all time and I can literally play it forever and ever, the expansions are really fun as well that expand the Black Mesa incident to a greater scale. The second game and its episodes are lesser IMO but are still 9/10s.

Valve's theme that you hear in the start of all of their games is actually just the theme from midway through Surface Tension, the longest chapter of HL1. Man the game's cinematics are still incredible today for a 20 year old game, like the tentacle in Blast Pit, the jets in Surface Tension. It's just incredible really I implore you play it; the game really set the bar for what a good singleplayer FPS is while still feeling...
Best HL1 chapter is Surface Tension, it drags for a bit but its easily the best, worst is On A Rail. For HL2 my fav is Follow Freeman and my lowest is Sandtraps.
Disagree with you on everything; Follow Freeman starts out great but then gets absolutely terrible with the section where you need to kill the Striders, they take 6 or 7 rocket shots each and ammunition is kind of scarce. I'd always get stuck on this part when I was younger. Sandtraps is very annoying but I liked the fact that the environment was so open. It showed you the effects that the Combine had inflicted on Earth. Surface Tension is annoying because of the helicopter and the tank sections. I don't like On a Rail thoughbeit. Horrible chapter.

I didn't mind on a rail. I like the end where you launch a satellite and it plays that 20 second music. I liked Sandtraps and it was way better than Highway 17. I don't like the City 17 part up until you fight the striders and take over that building with the forcefields

What about alyx though

In physics, half-life is the period over which half of a given amount of a radioactive substance decays. It represents the time it takes for half of the unstable atomic nuclei in a sample to transform into more stable forms by releasing energy, often in the form of radiation.

Key Points:
Radioactive Decay: Unstable isotopes (radioisotopes) undergo radioactive decay to reach a more stable state. This decay occurs randomly at the level of individual atoms, but on a larger scale, the rate of decay is predictable.
Exponential Decay: The decay process follows an exponential decay pattern, meaning that each half-life results in a 50% reduction of the remaining radioactive material. For example:
After one half-life, 50% of the original amount remains.
After two half-lives, 25% remains.
After three half-lives, 12.5% remains, and so on.
Different Half-Lives: Various radioactive elements have different half-lives, ranging from fractions of a second to billions of years. For instance, the half-life of carbon-14 (used in radiocarbon dating) is about 5,730 years, while uranium-238 has a half-life of approximately 4.5 billion years.
Formula
The relationship between the initial amount of substance

This formula helps calculate how much of a substance remains after a certain period, or the time it takes for a given amount to decay to a certain level.

Half-life is an essential concept in nuclear physics, medicine (e.g., using radioactive tracers), and archaeology (e.g., carbon dating).

Just finished HL2 again, fighing against Gunships and Striders is the best part of the game, especally gunships.
Once you start to develop a strategey on how to defeat a gunship with ease, taking them down is very very fun, especally on hard mode (only legends play hard mode).
