Anyways damn i'm proud of you for finally letting yourself be open on this one, i'm espcally glad you have released a tech demo aswell
 
Okay okay, i will ask this:
Will there be cutscenes?
Will this endless cycle truly be endless until you complete the game or is the games playthrough'length pre-set like how FNAF has it's playthrough length pre-set over 5 nights instead of being endless until your fired.
 
geg these are the goofiest running animations, I'll have to figure out how to make them better somehow. probably go look up some running anims on youtube, or do it with a 3d model and then sketch off of that and attempt to copy it using the 2D skeleton.


i should probably get to making an animation system next so i can have hecking awesome idle animations and also add procedural gore somehow
more of a me diary than for you to see since i keep this kind of stuff in my notes anyways but yeah

Todo
- Eye Animations
- Facial expressions
- Overlaying a paper image over the sprite for the paper effect, outline too perhaps, think I might do that next.
- Gore
- Health
- Crouching and Proning (I might add vents)
- Lockers, planning them to be 3 units high so that Engel is about half width of a locker. They have to be a 3D model though so you can actually get inside of them
- Figuring out that nightmare of an animation tree system that godot has (it is scary)

I have lots of questions to ask, @Soygoy, but 90% of them are not relevant yet
You can ask questions but this is a very pre-pre-alpha stage so I'll share as much as I want about the development process but ultimately try to keep questions to what I'm gonna do now as it progresses and so on. I'm in a state now where the animations I'm using are practically placeholders and I need to make proper ones that aren't half-baked.

It'll be more like Ultimate Custom Night where once you escape you have to do it over and over again to get more lore snippets, but each "over and over again" wont be so hard because there will be missions like "Take out 10 cameras as fast as possible" or "Take out 10 guards as fast as possible" or something like that. There will be cutscenes but only after completion of a run or perhaps after death on a rare chance. I kind of want cutscenes to be live action for the idea I'm going for, but we're not there yet so I won't worry about it.

if possible I'd get paper, draw engel in real life with different camera positions and then use stop motion or something to suggest that engel is a storybook character that slowly comes to life before being slammed back into the book, the book being the world you play in, but like i said not an issue right now

Customizable player sprite sheet will def be included so you can play as any soyjak o algo

jokes on you i have none and what kind of asshole would do that
either cutscenes are gonna be comic book esque like mgs peacewalker or i'll do something stop motion if the story i make does go that far or whatever
but the safest option is just ingame comic book cutscenes

There's this guy/girl/whatever out there on the internet who makes these FPE paper dolls, print them out for the cutscenes, you can find more on Google
