Do you support the Death Penalty?

Are you actually a woman lol? Your arguments are like the exact same my mother uses. Also when did we start talking about drug addicts?
No I'm not a fucking woman stop asking this stupid fucking question. And are drug addicts not criminals?

Hey, geniuses. It's meant to be rehabilitating.

Yes? But the drug problem can mostly be solved by cracking down on drug dealers and producers. At that point only people who very much willingly seek out drugs in clear disregard of laws and the well being of others and themselves will become addicted. At that point these people need to get locked up and removed from society for their safety as much as that of society.

But that has nothing to do with what I said. Drug addicts need sympathy and rehabilitation, not punishment. It's not their fault.

Did the drugs force themselves on the person? It is, in fact, the fault of the addict that they're addicted in the first place. Especially if the country they're living in actually takes measures to combat drug dealing and production. Of course if you're living in a shithole like Mexico or the USA then you can also lay the blame on the drug dealers and the incompetent state. But that's besides the point. You don't rehabilitate drug addicts, rather you take on the drug dealers and producers and the problem will mostly solve itself. After all, you can't get addicted if there's no one to sell drugs in the first place.

And you seem to misunderstand my beliefs about prison. I don't think prison should be about punishing people. I believe prison is there to seperate criminals and morally maladjusted people from society. Nothing less, nothing more.

Have you ever seen Dopesick? It gives a great explanation for how the average layman can get addicted to hard drugs for which I would never blame them for.

We're talking past each other. You seem to believe you should only treat the symptoms (drug addicts) rather than the root cause (drug dealers, drug producers, incompetent statesmen).

Of course you have to treat the symptoms, but remove the root cause and they're barely an issue.

But we're not talking about the root cause. Drug dealers deal drugs because they need money. If they were rehabilitated into being more productive members of society and working a economically valuable job then there wouldn't be a problem.

Ok, fix the economy. You'll still have a few dumbasses selling drugs because it's easy money and they're too lazy to work actual jobs. What now? How will you rehabilitate these people?

Nobody would sell drugs if they didn't have to.
