Why is Egypt only referenced in media by it's ancient era, but not other countries?

Like, nobody mentions Spartans with Greece, England with Anglo Saxons, Italians with Romans, etc. But when it comes to Egypt, all media relating to it is soyjak gape mouthed over le heckin pharoes or whatever. No Egyptian really associates with that history (from my knowledge), it's completely pushed by foreigners. Egypt should be represented by bustling bazaars and it's role in history that still matters. Ancient Egypt (pagan) has basically no influences today other than tourism spots.

the whole ancient egypt thing is also pushed by egypt itself for tourism ngl - but tbh italy is definitely associated with rome, but i do think all of this is just for tourism. egypt has nothing to offer BUT its old architecture and markets so it kind of makes sense that it’s the most prevalent
