Whitee do home invasions too.. in fact, drugged out rural America has some of the worst crime I've experienced. Being scared to fight just makes you a victim. There's no moral high horse here... being scared to fight / defend yourself is a confidence issue and hardly applaud-able.

You don't seem like the type to sleep with a loaded firearm cocked and loaded within arms length from your bed... and even then, it takes 20-30 seconds to even figure out whats going on when someone bashes in your door... and they might have firearms too.

Also, whens the last time you did any training with said firearm, whens the last time you did a home defense scenario and actually cleared your house with said gun. Little dogs bark the most, and a barking dog isn't biting.

I got a stick of bamboo about a meter long next to my hammock. Pretty comfortable with that personally, regardless of what they enter my house with.
