i cant help but look at videogames like a shitty box of toys to play with for like 5 minutes and then get bored of, every game is so incomprehensibly flawed for some reason, like Minecraft, where absolutely nobody knows what they're even supposed to do in that game because there's not really a goal or an objective, like atleast if you pick up mario or something you know you just have to go collect the stars. there used to be a time where if i was bored i could just pick up tf2 or something but i dont even do that anymore because tf2 is boring troonslop, not even by valve's choice, but the amount of trannies sneaking in references in that game is just so utterly insane that i don't wanna support it anymore.

which brings me onto the new games that people are playing, fucking idk baldurs gate 3, whatever, all these new games are like 500 fucking gigabytes and require £1000 graphics cards to run like do you seriously expect i have the money for that shit come on man. do you expect me to have the time even to download your 500 gb game with my 30 mb per second internet? like what are devs even thinking, they expect you to buy a fucking ps5 or some shit that has only like 500 gb of storage space anyways and they expect you to fill the entire drive with only like 1 game? are they retarded?

in conclusion videogames are fucking dumb they take too much time to set up and you get nothing out of it atleast with wii sports its fun for the whole family or something

MOST video games suck. Some are gems. I love the souls genre of games. They always have really well crafted worlds to explore, they don't talk your ear off and are not pozzed. Also the gameplay is challenging but very satisfying to master, and probably my favorite aspect is that you get new weapons and tools to play with from each boss you beat. Especially in more modern instalations like elden ring, you have so many choices in weapons that you can just switch out for something new whenever you get bored of your current weapon/spells.
I like playing pokemon games a lot, specifically fanmade ones because official ones suck, but it falls of really fast after you have your team built. Super hard fangames can keep it engaging by being so retarded that you need to build new teams for every boss fight. But those are kind of stressful too.

Just seems like overused, overcomplicated and boring unfun gimmicks to me.

TSMT but also neutralplier because I find that a vast majority of hacks I see are often worse than the actual games and I thought ORAS was great

I also see nothing wrong with having a mostly set team early on, as the time I put into making those Pokémon better is where I get most of my enjoyment, it's like being a coach.
Maybe we have fundamentally different views and that's why I enjoy them more, I don't know.
What kinds of things do you look for in a fangame? I'm currently planning one out, but I think hearing from someone with a different perspective might make it more fun for people other than myself.

i dont play other video games, i find them to be massive time wasters.
