Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire are massively over rated, but this team looks fun.

I never finished it because the beginning felt too similar to Ruby. Is it worth it?

It's just a better game overall but it's not different enough from Ruby to justify a whole playthrough if you don't want to do it.
