that's why I lurk way more than I post. It's too annoying to keep checking back to see if someone gave me any juicy (you)s for it to be worthwhile. Unfortunately sometimes I'm looking for actual replies.

Sharty has auto update set to default, of 4cuck make sure to leave update on in case you get 404'd

I agree, especially in 4chan because not only is it extremely active, but the maximum amount of threads active can't amass 10 pages in each board, which causes a lot of competition in order to stay active and not be killed off.

Luckily we don't really have this issue due to the high page count and the lesser amount of activity than 4chan

it pretty much depends on board speed
some threads will stick around for hours or days without constant attention
others will die super fast if left unattended
