i'm curious if commonwealth stacks with poland-romania
i would play shitaly but that requires knowing naval so i'll probably just do russia

I tried germany in singleplayer. I don't know if I can even win this... At least I know how land battles and modifiers work

I have years ago. I mostly played eu4 instead since I preferred it over hoi4. A lot has changed and I don't remember how to even deal with the air force or navy
Air force is kind of easy, navy is a lot more complicated and I still don't pay much attention to naval combat when I play (why I chose the Bulgarians, as the only thing I'd have to pay attention to navally is the Black Sea if I get into a conflict with the Turks or Romanians, or if I join a war against the Soviets). Mess around with the air force a bit when you're getting into wars as the Germans. You start with a lot of planes that can come in handy with the initial invasions of Poland and France. For starters, just group 'em up and send 'em out to the air province where your soldiers are attacking. Just for two beginning tips, bombers destroy and damage fortifications and buildings in the region, and close air support acts as assistance in ground warfare.

I do this but it's all red. U-boats are also futile against the British navy. At least I know how to do things with tanks and infantry though. I forgot how to deal with supply and combat width shenanigans doe

To any players who have already selected a country: do you already have a particular political focus tree path in mind for your playthrough? That is, if you're comfortable sharing your plan now instead of making it a surprise during the game.

no because I have no idea what this game is or what any of that means, maybe I should watch a tutorial or smthing tomorrow before we play.

Well, as Finland, just be sure to prepare for the Russian invasion that'll come a few years after 1936, the game's start date. Maybe you'll make good friends with the Germans as you do so. I have a pretty good idea for what I'll do in my Bulgaria run, but I don't want to reveal my plan until I go through with it during the game. It'll be a lot of fun.
