Serious General christian thread

@baqqrih
Same here, I also disagree with much of their theology (I don't really know if I'll ever be able to find a church, at least nearby, that fits to my values. I feel opposed and unsure when it comes to baptizing infants, but I also believe in Covenant Theology rather than much of Dispensationalist thought, so most Baptist churches would already be at odds with my beliefs on that front, including the Baptist church I currently attend with my Baptist parents).
However these hymns are all great, the channel that one is on has a bunch that have been sung out of the Exclusive Brethren hymnbook that are still being uploaded. A new one was uploaded this morning.
Geg seems like I ain't the only one in this situation.
I like to seem of myself as a "mere christian" from C.S. Lewis' "Mere christianity" which argues that christianity as a whole is true, not going beyond into denominational debates.
I have a hierarchy of truth that has hold true 'til today, from the most certain to the least, they go : "God exists", "Christ is God". But what those two truths implie is much harder for me to pinpoint down.

And so I don't really have a fixed church as of now, and I go around my town in orthodox, catholic and protestant churches, and talk with priests and people there about the faith. As you can imagine I love eucumenism.

I'd say don't sweat it, if you search honestly God'll show you what he wants to show you
Edit : That doesn't mean I just believe these two truths, I confess the Nicean creed, the Athanasian creed, and I even ask for the intercession of saints, et cetera

At least that's what my (((((teacher))))) told me, and honestly reading the Tankah in Hebrew isn't too horrible with a dictionary at your side

If you learn Modern hebrew, you will basically be able to understand the Tanakh, so there's that. They're really not that close doe, modern Hebrew is basically a germanic language with how much it takes from them. It's like Maltese but replace Italian with German

>calling it the Tanakh instead of the Old Testament

I mean they made a vow to try and use as much vocabulary from scriptures as possible, even tho some words had to be changed because The pharaoh didn't attack God's chosen migrants in "Otobus", but in "chariots"
