Keep in mind that more than, since 1973, a little over 1 in 10 death row inmantes have been exonerated. Meaning that they are innocent. Those are the ones that survived, imagine how many were actually executed.

For me, I think that it should be reserved for the most heinous crimes with no chance of rehabilitation. Also only when there is 100% certainty that the accused is guilty, not just "beyond a reasonable doubt".

Pretty much, if there is hard evidence without doubt for a serious crime (rape, murder, or stealing property in a relative amount that would ruin someone) then I'm for death penalty. But I'm very cautious, since what if I'm falsely charged and receive a death penalty. That makes me reserve it for special cases only.
