Most victims probably go "eh, it wasn't that bad" and go on with their lives without ever reporting the incident. That's probably why the confusion regarding whether it should even be considered rape in the first place.

Most victims probably go "eh, it wasn't that bad" and go on with their lives without ever reporting the incident. That's probably why the confusion regarding whether it should even be considered rape in the first place.

Rape is inherently traumatizing because it's about the lack of control. The other person has complete power over you and that's why it's le bad. You're probably imagining like a teacher convincing a student to have sex with them, the student doesn't really know that they're being manipulated by a more mentally developed adult. But sex needs consent to really be enjoyable (although i wouldn't know KEK) so any physical or mental threat would inflict mental damage. or something.

Also this is just a personal observation on my part but most men who get molested at a young age become hypersexual and start molesting others as kids, or become sex (not necessarily porn) addicts in the future. Now some people might not see a sex addiction as a bad thing but I think it still is, being addicted to anything can be bad IMO. Everything needs balance and being raped or molested o algo by a woman as a child can throw off your mental balance at its most fragile state. or something...

I think it has to do with the character of the incident and whether it was a one time thing or a repeated occurrence.
The brain goes on damage control mode with trauma and in order to keep functioning. When you go through a traumatic experience your brain starts suppressing the either trying to suppress the memory all together or some of the specific details, trying to rationalize it as not actually having been that bad as you felt it was back then, or convincing yourself that you weren't actually upset at all back then when it happened. It's just a matter of whether the memory is too unpleasant for damage control to work in making the victim think they were actually the winner in that situation.
Also I'd imagine most incidents aren't too violent or leave lasting injury, so that also contributes to making those memories easier to suppress or revision.
