can anyone explain the hate behind undertale?

You definitely have a market, there are lots of people out there looking for an RPG (especially good fallout-types) that doesn't have the modern indie dev crap in it and if you just innovate the combat system and don't steal any of the plot beads (I don't know why you would ever want to) I think you could get the "spiritual successor" title instead of clone, undertale did come out 9 years ago now. Of course the diehard fans would come at you but I do honestly believe that "undertale with good writing and real choices" could be a best seller because a lot of people sit in the same boat.
i think undertale would work better with a morality meter of sorts, because pure genocide and pacifism is just dumb and stupid.
what if i made a game where the tutorial of the game is a friendly npc you meet being put into a hostage situation, and therefore, pure pacifism and pure genocide is impossible.
you must either kill to save your friend, or do nothing and cause your friend to die due to negligence, at which point, you'd have to fight your friend's killer.
in which if you spare him, you are Retarded. Personally that's what I think atleast because in life, sometimes you have to make a lot of hard choices and things aren't always black and white. sometimes you have to do bad things, but that doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. I think Undertale tries to do that, but it always just results in flavour text with the route ultimately being the same, you can play the entire game and kill everyone but spare like 1 monster and the game won't consider you genocide which is retarded.

i could even add in three-way trolley problems where instead of "kill 5 people save 1 person kill 1 person save 5 people" there could be 3 tracks and whichever track you pick will heavily affect the game. but most of this is just an idea though and if i made it i probably wouldn't release it under this psuedonym. but i am sharing this thought because i wanted to express my feelings about undertale and what could make the game better i guess. like imagine undertale but you get to choose your class, you can be an archer, a mage, a swordsman or maybe a healer or a priest / pacifist who stops fights with reason and peace. but maybe some people just can't be reasoned with and you have to learn to deal with that. there is no such thing as true pacifism, but pacifism to the extent where you did all you could to provide the most peace to the most people.

on the flipside there could be genuine asshole behaviour where you do the worst to the most people for no reason other than your own satisfaction
such a game would allow you to level up and gain xp even when doing pacifist actions and the xp and level can act like a charisma stat, making bosses and enemies easier to reason with.
reasoning with them would be like a dialogue minigame in which you have to identify what they believe in and try to calm them down, etc.

See this is an amazing idea, and I don't really know what I could add because you just described the foundation for a better game. I've read your posts you said you are a bit of a game dev so do you have like an itch.io where you got some projects at? Tbh you make me interested in what you've made real.

i have many projects but all of them are unreleased or in dev hell limbo, which is why im going to make a game called "george floyd.exe" (albeit very non serious and very funny) for the schlog in efforts to make a project and give updates and have it be released due to people expecting and wanting it, it's why i'm also making videos and stuff to try and get the required motivation to make projects etc. but as for itch, i have a different psuedonym which i will never tell anyone, but still no projects released lol. I don't want my main psuedonym to be associated with the soysphere despite the great community due to the fact that if i make things for the soysphere they have to be soysphere related etc. i could make an entirely new psuedonym and give it to the soysphere but tell them to not expect anything soy-related, but idk (is that namefagging? or is it technically nto namefagging if i create new names for literally everything)

recently just finished a college project which is very barebones right now, but i spent a lot of time developing. i cant really show anything so hopefully when i start that goofy georgefloyd.exe project you'll all see the extent of my skills for what it's worth i suppose. i think what i'll do though is finish schlog attorney and then work on that project (georgefloyd.exe). When it comes to heavily story based projects though, I might have to practice making a manga or a comic or just a book in general before I actually make those games, because story needs to be done right before it can actually be put into something.

Honestly undertale isn't that bad all things considered, I replayed it yesterday just making sure to kill all the dogs and skim over the dialog, RPGs where you can evade damage with good mechanical skill are always some of my favorites, albeit a 9 year old could finish undertale its too easy and too short. The final boss also dampens the experience greatly thanks to its lack of aesthetic cohesion with anything ever.

pretty sure i was younger than that when i beat undertale

Doesn't surprise me, despite having a good foundation the game itself is game journalist difficulty, you're not hard pressed to just not die at all all game. I know it has harder bosses but there are better things to do then grind out all enemy spawns in a location all day.

i've literally heard theres a secret character that is the oc of a literal fat fetish artist because the dev got bribed to xher to the game
I think I've heard that xhe made a bunch of the fans seethe for some odd reason by doing this but I'd need Snopes to back me up on it

Because pacifism is pretty gay and uninteresting and half the characters are gay
besides that people are often tilted by perceived undeserved success, which about describes shittertale
