can anyone explain the hate behind undertale?

hasn't the game taken years to finish despite having multiple people work on it? theres literally a copypasta on the 'ki about it:

Did Scott Cawthon just BTFO Toby Fox?

>Released 8 games in less than 4 years by himself, hiring only voice actors, while Toby has taken well over 6 years to not even release 3 chapters of a single game with help from programmers, artists and more
>Made some of his games free while Toby is planning to sell an unfinished game
>Spoke to his fans constantly before being unjustly canceled, unlike Toby who only drops in four times a year to say his game will take more time
>Released a game BEFORE the scheduled release date
>Loved by his fans, unlike Toby whose fans hate him or are indifferent
>Never inserted his politics into FNAF
>Never stole content from other media
>Did all the art, programming, and marketing for his games
>Has donated over $1 million of his own money to charity
>Isn't afraid to use his real voice in interviews
Where is YOUR evidence to back up your opinions about Toby Fox? By all means, play the games and just try to debunk this.

>inb4 muh gameplay (It's not like Undertale has amazing gameplay)
>inb4 muh books (Scott has almost no input on them)
>inb4 muh storytelling (Scott never hid important plot details in his games' code)
>inb4 muh lore (Scott was on his last leg making the first game. of course the lore isn't one straight, perfect line)
>inb4 someone says that Toby still conveys information about his stories better (replay the New Home segment of Undertale and come back to me)
>inb4 someone brings up his cancellation
>inb4 someone mentions Security Breach (Scott had no input on the game at all)
>inb4 someone says his games have much less content than Deltarune (Toby has still taken way too long to release just a 3 chapters with a lot of help)
Keep the discussion on topic and don't do anything that is mentioned above in the inb4 section. You should be open minded and play the games and discuss them WITH SPECIFIC EXAMPLEs. I'm open to having my mind changed. But only with examples that explain why Toby is apparently better than Scott.
Scott Cawthon my beloved

idk apparently the coding sucks i dont play rpg games
talking abt undertale in the modern era is giving autism

Undertale's best asset imo that isn't the music is its combat system because its unique and fun to master, however you are disincentived from using it by the game because you're not allowed to kill to get the true ending and the other true ending where you only kill is monotonous and not worth pursuing unless you hate fun. The story if undertale is ass, no doubts about it. The characters are insufferable and its a cookie-cutter "murder is bad" plotline, but murder is fun actually, but the game actively pushes you to not do it and stay level 1 forever. Like why shouldn't you kill the wimpy skeleton or the lesbian knight, the game tells you not to but I want it. I just wish you could kill alphys' bum ass.
yeah pretty much undertale is just worse than life is strange tbh. life is strange actually gives you choices to make and stuff whereas undertale is just like "pacifist good, murder bad, your choices matter i swear" and then if you pick genocide they go "noooooo dont murder people noooo fuck you, you instakill everyone, get the shittiest boss fights until sans and get the worst ending hahahahaha"

I wish undertale was good because I can recognize a good core, I actually really like its combat system because any RPG where you can evade damage by having high mechanical skill is something I really like its why the mario and luigi series games are so good but everything that surrounds the combat is just not ok.

i want to make a videogame like undertale but with actual choices and decisions like fallout new vegas but afraid people will just call it undertale ripoff and not care
tried to think of ways to innovate the combat system without making it seem like undertale and can't, the heart being your soul and enemies attacking you in that way is just perfection.
but what do you think. would it be possible for me to make a game like that some day and have people enjoy it without it being like "oh you just copied undertale but removed the tumblr humor and added actual choices and multiple endings (5+ or 10+ endings)"

You definitely have a market, there are lots of people out there looking for an RPG (especially good fallout-types) that doesn't have the modern indie dev crap in it and if you just innovate the combat system and don't steal any of the plot beads (I don't know why you would ever want to) I think you could get the "spiritual successor" title instead of clone, undertale did come out 9 years ago now. Of course the diehard fans would come at you but I do honestly believe that "undertale with good writing and real choices" could be a best seller because a lot of people sit in the same boat.
