If you have a high school diploma go into the trades. If you don't, get your GED and get qualified. We're in desperate need of tradesmen and the jobs all pay well. If you're afraid of the physical aspect there are jobs where you can just sit around all day controlling a vehicle. Example: crane operator, forklift driver, etc. These qualifications are not hard to get at all.

Trades are gonna be a backup if I fail to actually find a job with an aerospace or mech engineering degree
