Sunni muslims make up less than 100 percent of the muslim population, therefore it can be asserted that less than half of the muslim population follows the cousin marriage rule.

Actually, you can go ahead and prove that it’s less than half since it’s literally half right there and by the way via modern moral rulings and teachings the other schools would actually be growing more significantly so it’s actually more certain that it is forbidden to marry cousins.

Actually scholarly opinion would come from both holy books and such sources in question the thing is that it is a consensus that it is indeed allowed which does not hold more weight and we can debate if it does have more weight and you’re gonna get absolutely slammed.
