I have a kid's butterfly net that I use to catch grasshoppers for them in the spring. They're HUGE and all over the yard, and the chickens have to actually chase it when I throw it to them. They love it.
Oh, and we have these invasive beetles, so I throw their larvae to the birds whenever I find those bastards.
