My PS3 HATES DVDs!!!

Got this problem that I think you guys might be able to help me with. My PS3 is a CECHH model, able to play PS2 games via software emulation. The thing is, it can play CDs, Blu Ray…but not DVDs. If its a movie or a PS2 disc or something else, it just wont play it cause its a DVD. Wtf is wrong with it? My theory is that the vengeful spirit of Sony has possessed it with a seething rage against Toshiba cause of the HD DVD vs Blu Ray war or something.
UPDATE: Listened in on how it tried to play a DVD. It spun, clicked 3 times, spun again, then paused. Then repeated that and never did anything else. MArge?

Just use a DVD reader in ur PC you fucking spic retard.
Also use mpv it moggs VLC.

Yes, one lens is for CD, one for Blu Ray and the other is for DVDs. If it can play DVDs but not PS2 discs then it might be a software issue.

I don't think the software in the PS3 can register external disc drives, you will have to replace the internal drive.
