Im warming up with a bit of vanilla Germany and now I can see why SmallAnus keeps losing
I dont own 'dammerung but there's so much stuff to juggle and better guys to hire down the road I have no idea what to put my political power towards, and I havent even started with templates

I played Germany without the DLC and the new stuff isn't too hard to manage. All the stuff with the Inner Circle is explained by hovering over the focuses and you only need to do one for each of the candidates. As for advisors and such, just look at the stats and pick the guy you want or work towards him if you need to do a focus or what have you. There are really no unique decisions for Germany that isn't setting up the puppet nations that I've seen if you do historical. Smallanus just lost because he didn't know what he was getting into beforehand which is fair enough but in singleplayer you can look at the focus trees and have enough time to plan because of your ability to pause.

The MTG stuff seems unchanged, so you should be good to go
You’ll need the Italian navy combined with the German air force and such to keep the British Med fleet at bay
At the minimum you need an engine and an armament for a ship to be designable, be sure to exercise for some naval xp to make designs and changes
Whether you want more expensive ships with a bunch of stuff on them or cheaper bathtub spam is up to you, but be sure to at least keep a good ratio of big ships(carriers, battleships, heavy cruisers) to screens(destroyers, light cruisers, subs?), about 20-80, so the screens tank while your capital ships deal damage. Also dont forget to assign airplanes to your carriers on the air screen, since the icon is small and hard to see. I’ll try and build some naval bombers to support you there.
