Imagine rapeson chasing you attempting to escape his rape dungeon, and suppose that rapeson is running at 1 m/s, and you crawl at 0.1 m/s and that you started out 0.9m ahead of rapeson. Would you be caught?
At face value yes, just after 1s. But breaking the motion down, to catch you he must reach the point where you started, But in the time he takes to do this the you crawled a little further forward. So next rapeson must reach this newpoint. But in the time it takes rapeson to achieve this you crawled forward a tiny bit further. And so on to infinity: every time that rapeson reaches the place where you was, you had enough time to get a little bit further, and so rapeson has another run to make, and so rapeson has an infinite number of catch-ups to do before he can catch you, and so, I conclude, he never catches you.

there would eventually be a point where the 2 points collide and rapeson catches you unless you were both going at the same speed and in different starting places so this logic doesn't play out mathematically
