My man, he never claimed to be particularly Christian or conservative.
I never thought he did, either. The other guy said he was.
I find this comment to be incredibly cruel. I also find it very ironic that you seemed to skim over the part where the very much "Conservative" and "Christian" mother was objectively the least moral of the two.
Yeah, I didn't watch the video in its utter entirety. My reply never referred to the mother, it was specifically about the father (who Chairman mistakenly spoke of as a conservative) and the daughter (who I believe was corrupted by him not being a truly "conservative" parent) You can see irony all you want in how the same label that I apply to myself that immoral mother also applied to herself, that's fine with me.
Should I bother to bring up the how many Christian parents are abusive to their children, or would you merely put forth the No true Scotsman logical fallacy.
Sure, I will use that "fallacy", because that's how I see these things. If they're so consistently abusive of their children in such a horrendous manner, then I don't see them as proper Christians. I can call myself a pacifistic hippie and then go on a murder spree, yet clearly I wasn't adhering to what an average hippie pacifist would do. Same thing here. You put a label that says "MEAT" on cheese, it doesn't make the cheese a meat. These people aren't adhering to what they say they believe if they're being so abusive to their kiddo.
Our generation (You're 16? So that makes you Gen Z, right?) is becoming more atheistic than ever before. I do not see that changing anytime. Simply due the easy access we to information and science, religion will surely meet its demise in the west. It most likely will not be anytime soon, but it will happen.
Quite simply, I don't think that will happen, because I follow a Lord who says it won't. We can disagree on this plenty fine, since we share different worldviews.
Also, don't you think it is a bit... arrogant of you to think you can interpret God's will? I should say, many have tried and no one can seem to agree on what it is. What makes you think you can?
What makes me think I can interpret God's will in this manner is that I hold faith that my Lord, Jesus Christ, has the correct will, and so, it isn't arrogant to Him at all, from this belief, if I'm only stating what He believes is true.
I say all of this with respect.
Thank you for saying it with respect. I hope my response showed an equal measure.
