There always seems to be a morality system in videogame cheating. Cheat in Garry's Mod and nobody cares. Cheat in Minecraft, nobody cares. Cheat in Terraria, i mean hey i do it all the time nobody really cares all that much. But if you cheat in like CSGO or TF2, people will treat you like a serial rapist who deserves to die, someone who's not a real human being and someone who is irredeemable and deserves to kill themselves. I know this because I watch Zesty Jesus a lot and their reactions towards cheaters are extremely hostile. It makes sense, but to call someone "not a human being" or "not a real person" and then say shit like "you got bullied in school so you cheat in videogame you deserve to die" just makes me realize that these niggas may have an unhealthy obsession with TF2.

Personally, I can understand though, cheaters in multiplayer games are annoying, but for other games, nobody really seems to care all that much. There seems to be a morality system where if you cheat in a videogame that isn't competitive, then it's fine or whatever. Like if you cheat in a kids game it's almost seen as silly and goofy, because its a stupid kids game, take Roblox for example, where people like me used to use scripts and injectors to troll people, delete their characters, push people off the map etc, those were some fun times, even Ruben Sim was doing it. I used exploit scripts back in the day to get free admin and vip passes on games and BTFO ODers by flinging them off the map, flying to crystal island in Booga Booga.

In Minecraft, I would use Impact Client to hack on 2b2t and 9b9t and also use it to beat little kids in Bedwars on Hypixel but also because everyone was cheating at the time so I pretty much did it to get on the same playing field, it was hard not to come across people on Hypixel who had reach or something and even to this day, people are pretty much cheating, using ESP or something like that. People seem to cheat on Hypixel Skyblock all of the time and honestly for some reason not many people would blame you for doing so. The only people who care about macros are admins, players don't typically macro because it could get them banned but they don't see it as an unfair advantage against themselves or anything. When it comes to macros, you can do it but you have to be smart about it, could make a Hypixel Bot that farms for you but when it sees bedrock (macro check) it stops and runs an input script that looks around and pretends to be a normal player and then goes back to macroing.

Stuff like that is honestly not frowned upon at all, if you're smart enough to cheat the system, an unfair system that is, then people would encourage you for it, that is unless you make your bot public and make Hypixel aware of your smart plan, making it unfeasible and ramping up security measures even more.

On a similar note, there's Runescape, with players coming up with creative solutions to help automate ingame tasks:

This kind of "cheating" is honestly not frowned upon at all, it's seen as creative and ultimately hilarious. Nobody is telling this guy to kill himself for example for making an IRL auto click machine etc. So then... what about this?

So now that machines like this exist, anyone could be cheating and you would never even know. This kind of thing seems like people would hate you for it, despite being a clever and ingenious engineered solution, it is cheating and therefore you should kill yourself because you got bullied in school when you were younger so you grew up, got a job, became very intelligent and dedicated your life to building robots that pass captcha tests and cheat in videogames. How dare you. Kill yourself. etc. etc. Where exactly do we draw the line?

My opinion

Personally I think cheating in games like TF2 and CS2 is wrong and you shouldn't be doing it, you deserve to get banned. But trying to make it illegal is braindead / retarded, it is just a fucking videogame. So many people seem to get in a hissy fit over such a simple fact. Trolling and exploiting is okay, but not when it's muh favourite vidya!! Because... YOU JUST CAN'T OKAY?!? If you hack in Second Life or some game nobody cares about, nobody bats an eye, but if it's TF2 or CS2, you're suddenly cancer. But I think this reaction is somewhat warranted as players who play TF2 have lived with such bullshit for a long time that their reaction does honestly make sense. The Bots are basically a glorified DDOS attack and they deserve to be shut down, and when players cheat, they do it at the expense of other players' fun. When it comes to MMOs like Runescape, nobody cares because when you automatically macro farm something, it doesn't really negatively affect anyone else, well, except for the economy ofcourse. The only people it hurts is JAGEX.

If you cheat in a singleplayer game, it is also completely fair and okay because it's just for fun. So to conclude, cheating shouldn't be illegal, you should be allowed to moon jump and get infinite cash in GTA San Andreas and decompile and create Pokemon ROM Hacks and stuff like that, but when it comes to multiplayer videogames, if you are doing something that is essentially denying someone else or a group of people of a service, then you shouldn't be allowed to do it. Cheating should only be allowed if everyone consents, e.g HVH or "Anarchy" servers.

Cheating in multiplayer games is fun. I don't cheat in singleplayer games because it makes me feel like a bitch who can't do it without cheats
