i kinda remember my teachers talking about it in school like it was a bad thing when we were learning about WW1 & WW2.
almost every single political party these days always wants to get involved in wars (proxies count) or do some bullshit with "muh foreign relations"...
i dont understand why we can't just keep to ourselves and try to become more self reliant. getting involved in other countries' business has almost never gone well after ww2, especially with vietnam and afghanistan.
please explain to me what i'm not seeing...

apparently a lot of that had to do with US oil embargoes placed on japan... which sounds a little contradictory and not isolationist at all.
