Battle rifles are full-length, semi-automatic or select fire rifles that are chambered for a full-power rifle cartridge, and have been adopted by a nation's military.
I personally love the old "prototype" AR-10s from the 1950s-1960s. The top-mounting charging handle is admittedly a bit inconvenient, but it gives the gun character. I also like the color scheme a lot more (compared to modern AR-style rifles that are either plain black or some sort of camo).
