Of course it really depends on the type of thing you're looking for (example: people don't mind buying a used car but nobody wants used underwear). I'm mainly concerned about consumer electronics here, thoughever.
Specifically things like cell phones, desktops, laptops, game consoles, you get the gist. I'm bringing this up because I'm probably going to be given a small budget ($600 USD) to buy a laptop once I go to college.
I know there are many brand-new laptops around that price, however I want a business laptop instead of a "consumer-grade" one. A Dell Latitude, to be precise. New ones with decent specs are hundreds of dollars out of my budget, but Dell offers refurbished ones for much cheaper.
I've never really bought shit that wasn't brand-new before, so I'm nervous. To be fair they come with a 1-year warranty, although I have no idea how good they are at actually honoring that. Just wondering.
