No they won't. That's not how domains work. They're not tied to the server

Yea but the domain is hosted on the server (unless the domain was moved to a different service afterwards), and every time you log in, the information goes to the server to make sure you're allowed to go connect to the domain and what permissions are tied to your connection.

The domain isn't even hosted on the server. That's not how a domain works. It's Namecheap. All a domain does is point to an IP address which points to the exact device

Also 95% sure their plan was to sell the domain, sit back while someone worked on the site until it hypothetically got better, and then just rugpull him and take ownership back since they still have server ownage. Because why else would you sell the domain and not the servers.
