In either case, a person made a comment implying a pedophilic context and was banned for it. One said that they’d marry an underage character, the other said that underage marriage was fine in certain contexts. They violated the same rule, even while either have clearly not been exposed for being actual sexual predators. So, because they simply said something in text, rather than being actual pedophilic predators, this situation is being treated in the same light as HWABAG’s. You are free to bicker all that you’d like about this reasoning because you arbitrarily think that these two cases are different, but we don’t hold that position. We aren’t hypocrites, so we’ve decided to treat this situation in the same way as past single-time pedophilic statements. DonutHole’s case is another example of this policy.
Additionally, Sparkles was not actually perma-banned for pedophilia, despite what people think. A decision had already been made by the staff to keep her ban temporary until Froot stepped in and banned her permanently, not for pedophilia, but for being a Muslim.

look i dont want to sound like an hypocrite but im pretty sure advocating and approving of irl child marriage (with 9 year olds mind you) is a far more concerning issue than some guy making a joke about this anime girl being his wife.
i really doubt sparkles was joking considering shes a muslim, she isnt a child predator, of course, but what if i told you "im not attracted to children, but i think grown men marrying 9 year olds is good" would you be okay with that? would it be against the rules?
