i almost read the bible the other day, but i couldn't find it. the story of soddom and gomorrah kind of inspired me to want to do so. ngl i wouldn't even mind backey being my youth pastor if loads of it wasn't so boring, imo. like we really need a bible that's just all the good shit and all the boring filler just taken out of it. like a bible tiktok version for adhd addled brains, I think that would really help get religion back into the youth!

You wouldn't get much that you haven't already learned from the Old Testament if you started there, as, like you said, we share many of the same prophets and Tanakh tales, so I'd recommend starting with the Book of John as the first Gospel you read if you're going to start somewhere, or you could just read the Gospels in the order that they're in, that way you can learn the core message and foundational teachings of our faith as it is written.

My favorite is Elijah. The entire story in the First Book of Kings of the contest he set up on Mount Carmel that ultimately led to the disproof of Israel's false god and the slaying of the false prophets is a neat tale.
