This has always happened. NewGods replace Newgods constantly. This issue is when OldGods are replaced with NewGods and the NewGods don't learn 'arty cvlture. What in recent times do you think caused this "displacement" you are lamenting? When admins do shit to piss off the userbase, you lose the old and productive members. The frootcord leaks caused a massive wave of people to leave the 'arty and soysphere. When hating the 'cord is a central part of your site's cvlture, and your admins are not only outed as using it as a command center and coordinating gayops on it, but also being completely unapologetic, how should 'teens react? The 'ik lost tons of users including its admin. The 'ru was already fucked by 'leno btfoing it, now it's nowhere near as active it was. And the change on the 'arty itself is as plain as day. You are right that I can't solely blame the admins, because their faggy mods and jannies are just as bad. I saw them in their brimstone le secret board. They are all 'cord trannies.
It is true that user displacement is the natural course of things. Sharty was always living on a timer, only a matter of time before the critical mass of oldfags is lost and too many newfags makes proper integration impossible. What caused it? Well I could speculate and that's exactly why I'm reluctant to make such a damning judgment of the administration (Not that I am a big fan of them either way)

Yeah, the 'arty was already facing stagnation, but it was moving in the right direction before froot started acting retarded and made root and his alter egos admin. We were experiencing board diversification. (pol and qa were 1000+ ppd and developing thier own cvltures). The 'ru was productive. The 'ki was healthy. And we had the shlog to fill in a new niche. Even more so, people saw the issue and wanted to fix it. Maybe none of this would have amounted to anything, but taking fire to the 'arty instead didn't help.
Fair enough, I suppose it's a matter of perspective.
i recorded PPD in early froot era but it wasn't 20k ppd outside few days after sites resurrection, it was like 15k on average instead
After the 50 board plan, I saw it closer to 20k than 15k, but I won't die on any hills over the ppd trackers. I will say I mean around 20k and only on rare occasions did it breach 20k. A true 20K+ average was more during parts of the kuz era and maybe very early doll era.
ppd wise biggest growth in sharty after happened during kuz and temp-admin doll era with PPD growing to 3-5 times of what it used to be before the purchase, but it stopped growing after that for some reason

With internet communities, there is very rarely “small communities with good content”. Community size is almost always proportional to quality or something analogous. Things travel instantly over the internet and memes spread like wild fire. Yes there are filters and gate keeping, but that doesn’t matter. The relative growth and shrinking of community size is a good measure of quality most of the time.
