the name field was enabled many times during the sharty's history for varying lengths of time (sometimes for months) and was previously enabled for a while on many non-/soy/ boards. it didn't do much except for allow a few namefags to attentionwhore as 90% of the sharty doesn't touch the name settings anyway, so its pretty much a nothingburger.
even then, if you're going to be a sharty-killing nametroon you'll find ways to do it regardless of a namefield, such as by avatarfagging and having a distinct posting pattern
