Do you cap your frames in console or you just play normally? On older source games you have to either do that or turn on v-sync cuz by default the game is capped at 300 fps so naturally a laptop will overheat.

im playing on a pc and i do not cap my fps
im gonna try capping it to 60 now with vsync and see if it makes a diff
it could be that, my pc isnt designed to render anything above 60 fps so maybe a high fps is causing my shit to kill itself
i doubt it however

If you turn on v-sync the game will automatically cap your fps at your monitor's fps cap so I advise that you only do one. I cap my fps instead of vsync because I don't get screen tearing and vsync off feels more responsive.

my temp is only at 48 when vsync on, so it might be doing something good for me.
we'll see.
