Autism Sonic the Hedgehog

I played a bit of Frontiers but I wasn’t too impressed with what I played. The open world shit was okay but the Cyberspace levels pissed me off. If I wanted to play Unleashed and Generations levels I’d just go play those games. Why would I want to play those same levels with some of the worst controls Sonic has had in recent history. Didn’t help that the open zones didn’t feel Sonic like in any way, they felt like some forgettable AA JRPG, combine that with a failing PC and I had no real desire to finish the game
I never played sonic frontiers, open world games are shit.

I mean to be honest it really does say something when most of sonic games and most sonic games that people enjoy are just the original ones and the 3D one (generations but also adventure) that just takes the original and makes it 3D. I mean I hate to say this but Sonic is as uncreative as it gets these days. Heres the 9 millionth reference to fucking green hill zone or an older sonic game like yeah okay fuck off.

I don't really know what Sonic team are doing most of the time, being uncreative sells because Sonic Mania was a great success but on the other hand it really doesn't because the rest of the surrounding games were flops. Really the rest of Sega's other games sell well and are good (Yakuza my beloved, they be doing wild shit there) but they just screw up with their mascot game.

I love Sonic The Hedgehog 2006, it gave us Sonicman. He needs his own sidegame.

They should let me make a game haha

Nigga fuck sonic lost world, more like sonic lost game 'cuz nobody on earth care about that shit.
The 3DS version was neat though, if anything I'd say it's slightly better then the console version.
I have little to no strong opinions of the game as I haven't played it in half a decade but I remember preferring the 3DS port over Wii U/PC version.
Sonic is just kind of meh these days. I feel like we peaked at a certain point, like Adventure and Unleashed and Colours perhaps.
If the franchise peaked, it definitely wasn't at Colours, that's for sure.
I love the game for what it is but man, the game is utter-shit without mods, if you're going to ever give it a shot again, do it with Project Re-Rainbow.
I've gave the mod a shot last week and loved every second of it, it really polishes out the rough edges of Colours Ultimate while keeping the benefits of Ultimate.
I even love some of the more nicher sonic games like Sonic CD and Sonic R and Sonic the Fighters. But modern sonic is just mehhhhhhhhhhhh
>Sonic CD
>Sonic R
>niche

If you want something that's kinda niche, go play the SMS/GG games, they're brilliant if you can suffer through the screen-size on the Game Gear.
There's some real diamonds in the rough especially the likes of (and this is coming from someone who's beat them all) Sonic Chaos and Tails Adventure.
If you want something so niche it's sickening, go play the LeapFrog games, I couldn't even sit through those so take that as you will.
they never took advantage of a full 3D environment until Frontiers, I'd say. Levels in Sonic games have always been extremely linear, no branching paths or anything like that. Which just kind of sucks, in my opinion.
You clearly haven't played Sonic 06, which I don't blame you but still.
That game is one of my biggest guilty pleasures, the levels are LITTERED in branching paths and hidden goodies for those using the gem system to it's highest potential to reach areas not thought possible.
Every level usually has multiple paths available right from the get-go, multiple routes both high and low all with differing difficulties just like the Classic games.
If you want to see this level design in action, go watch a play-through of Dusty Desert and keep a keen eye out as you'll find paths and routes everywhere in the background.
Also Project 06 is for faggots, so don't play that.

I didnt know Project 06 was...LE BAD
It is LE BAD... OK?
But seriously, I cannot stand P-06 and what it's done to discourse revolving the original Sonic 06.
Every single moron who plays P-06 thinks they're in a position to talk about the original game as a whole because "ermm.... it's the same thing CHUD?" when they clearly are not.
Project 06 is an utter embarrassment of a fan-game, it gets everything that made 06 a genuinely fun and skillful game and turned it into a "Adventure 2 Lite" by adding so many useless tinker-tranny options and physics to replicate what "muh sovlful y2k SA2" tried to do so much, it barely resembles the source-material anymore.
The Sonic 06 gem system was completely destroyed in favor of a more streamlined and polished version of it and I hate it.
The gem system in 06 was based on skill and timing, you had to know when to use it and how to use it and the bugs surrounding the aforementioned gems made it even more skill-based, as now there's a level of having to know what slope angle corresponds to what level of use the gem brings to the table, for example the Sky Gem and it's ability to fly over obstacles can be pushed to it's absolute limits if you know the when what and how to use it, but in P-06 it was replaced with a watered down, simplified, glorified leap that just is not fun to use. (for me anyways.)
And that's not even getting into how much P-06 destroyed Silvers game-play but that's another can of worms.
Also here’s proof I beat 06, I don’t have all the receipts though as I didn’t take pictures of everything.

Ken Penders has just uploaded another scan from the upcoming Knuckles Omnibus, and wow.
I really do not love this as much as I loved the original.

I already went on a huge ramble about the older teasers uploaded by Ken in my journal thread, so I'll try not re-tread old arguments too much as I don't want to repeat myself.
For a start, the new palettes are brilliant despite everything else being mixed, it's hard to deny how much more life has been put into these issues thanks to the new color choices alone but man, he really needs to ask whatever freelance he has on-board to stop editing the art.
The new colors really make the issue pop and the same goes for the edited backgrounds, as they're changes made while sticking to the source material, a change for the better it you will, but these amazing colors mean absolutely nothing if the art isn't worthwhile, which it is.
The modified Tails just does not look right to me, he doesn't fit in at all and it throws me off every single time I lock eyes with the new art especially in the panels that only received a simple facelift instead of an entire ""remaster"", I really do understand what Ken is going for and where he's coming from, he's going for accuracy and modernization but just not in the right direction, he wants game accuracy instead of comic accuracy and IDW instead of an actual modernized take, and it reeks of the same stench the Classic Sonic IDW comics which was the intent, so kudos for that I suppose.
When I buy an Archie re-print, I expect an Archie re-print, not this amalgamation of IDW and Archie.
Look at the end of the day, as long as the dialogue is as overwhelmingly cheesy and witty as the original, I can stick it out, but I definitely will not be happy about it.

What do you think of 2017x? He's probaby the closest a sonic.exe variant gets to being scary. He's also looks like if someone drew rapeson as sonic which is gemmy. He broke contaimnent and started showing up outside of exe retard containment spaces which is mostly unheard of for exe variants other than the original.
