A lot of people seem to hate discord without any understanding of why it's le bad, which I prefer to people who just conclude that since they don't know why it's bad it's le good. It's sort of like wisdom of the elders, like how a lot of people today either reject or accept our ancestors stances on homosexuality or race mixing without knowing the reasoning behind those stances. Discord isn't just bad because le namefagging, namefagging is disliked in the soysphere because it undermines the anonymous nature of the website and shitpositng which is fair enough, but the corruption of discord goes much deeper.

For one, a discord unlike an organized forum is just a sewage output. It is a glorified chatroom just constantly running by. Topics aren't self contained (as they would be in a thread) but rather every channel just runs with whatever dribble is currently being spouted by someone and what gets pushed up is left in the dust, forgotten, a much more braindead formula for interaction than an IB or a forum. This is perhaps the least offensive part, however

Another thing about discord is it's closed off nature, probably the worst part. You cannot post on it or even browse it without making an account and joining the server, even it if's an open server it still demands a commitment for those who would just want to lurk.

This also contributes to the "discord cliques" that are always prone to forming, that's to say a group of people who find themselves in a discord and end up harming those who aren't a part of it, unintentionally or otherwise. Basically any space with any type of interaction gets replaced by discord. Video games, posting on IBs/forums, it all dies down when someone forms a discord (objectively worse medium for interaction). At this point the interactions will migrate to server, likely harming the original space and those who aren't part of the clique, who will now be left behind, left in the dark and left with a husk of a community.

I think this is one of the most egregious offenses in regards to making discord servers where they have no place, it's a drain on the community, it degrades it in subtle yet noticeable ways. It takes away from the original community, encourages forming of a cabal and pressures the rest of the community to join it. We are lucky that one of the founding principles of the sharty was hating discord, thanks to the allwise ancientDEITYs that founded the 'party, who would no doubt add much to my theories and give actual examples of discord evildoings from the past.
