People saying things like "I saw anti-SJW videos in 2016 and became le evil conservative, but now I'm based and watch breadtube" and assume you "didn't grow up past 2016" is the most ironic shit. In most of these stories the commie was a young, impressionable teenager at the time, and the algorithm starts putting "epic SJW owned" shit in their feed. Naturally they consoom it for a good while and become "edgy" before one of a few things happens:
Option 2: pure midwit thinking, proves they're current-thing devotees. The algorithm fed them cuckservatism and they fell for it, then it fed them wokeism and they fell for it, and the worst part is they somehow believe this means they're enlightened now.
Option 3: just bad logic. Usually along the lines of "I met a feminist and she was nice". I also have well-meaning leftist friends, but that doesn't change the fact they're on average way more neurotic and mentally ill; being unable to distinguish anecdotes from proven averages is a sign of not thinking critically. Someone being agreeable also doesn't prove their ideology is right, it baffles me they think that.
These basically encompass 90% of what I've heard from these people. It pains me greatly to hear them say "I used to be like you" and then their reason for converting is the most retarded shit. It's not incontestable proof their ideology isn't correct, it could be; people can arrive to the truth through bad logic, but if that was what's happening here, illogical reasons for converting would be outliers and not nearly every leftist.
- They realise they're drifting right and desperately try to unlearn everything.
- The algorithm starts feeding them leftist material and they consoom that instead.
- They have some personal experience that makes them change their views.
