People saying things like "I saw anti-SJW videos in 2016 and became le evil conservative, but now I'm based and watch breadtube" and assume you "didn't grow up past 2016" is the most ironic shit. In most of these stories the commie was a young, impressionable teenager at the time, and the algorithm starts putting "epic SJW owned" shit in their feed. Naturally they consoom it for a good while and become "edgy" before one of a few things happens:
  1. They realise they're drifting right and desperately try to unlearn everything.
  2. The algorithm starts feeding them leftist material and they consoom that instead.
  3. They have some personal experience that makes them change their views.
Option 1: outwardly biased, proves they value retaining their comforting ideology than seeking knowledge. They don't usually claim they deboonked their old ideas either, just that they were willing to accept any explanation (no matter how retarded) in order to stay good goy leftists.
Option 2: pure midwit thinking, proves they're current-thing devotees. The algorithm fed them cuckservatism and they fell for it, then it fed them wokeism and they fell for it, and the worst part is they somehow believe this means they're enlightened now.
Option 3: just bad logic. Usually along the lines of "I met a feminist and she was nice". I also have well-meaning leftist friends, but that doesn't change the fact they're on average way more neurotic and mentally ill; being unable to distinguish anecdotes from proven averages is a sign of not thinking critically. Someone being agreeable also doesn't prove their ideology is right, it baffles me they think that.

These basically encompass 90% of what I've heard from these people. It pains me greatly to hear them say "I used to be like you" and then their reason for converting is the most retarded shit. It's not incontestable proof their ideology isn't correct, it could be; people can arrive to the truth through bad logic, but if that was what's happening here, illogical reasons for converting would be outliers and not nearly every leftist.

Most of these people haven't grown up at all either, they haven't really changed the way they act towards their opposition much, they just changed who their targets are

Great analysis. It's hard when I speak to some of my long-time friends at school, some of whom I've known since kindergarten, and they always talk about politics as if they're getting actively groomed by the public school system into becoming these sorts of "okay the smart person on the internet or in this book said this so I will say it too and believe it all" people, similar to how you described option 2 in your post. I forget the name of the book since this was about six months ago, but one of my friends, who is in a different English class than I, had to study a book written by a Black "modern-day civil rights activist" about how Whites of the 1960s were the most evil people alive and how the justice system is virulently oppressive to Blacks because of one case from like 1980 where one guy who was Black was wrongly imprisoned for a really long time.
It once came into our discussion as he was reading it next to me in a study hall we were in when I asked him what he was reading, and the fact he took every word in that damn thing as truth, and I couldn't do anything to even object because he'd think I was unserious and was just making "dark or edgy jokes" about topics like segregation or the civil rights movement, hurt me. I was being as considerate as possible with my wording and he'd still think I was impersonating some sort of racist cartoon villain whenever I would deny one of the absurd claims about race he mentioned were made in the book. I can't even get him to think about the other side of things at all, and I can't understand why a man would be so dedicated to constantly reading about all of the guilt he should feel because of all of the fabrications taught to him. It's saddening. Same shit's going on with some of my other friends who I'm not as close with but who I've known for a long time, and my own brother, but my brother is an even more radical, spineless freak. He's an entire story himself.

I went in the opposite direction from fell for the masks to 3 years on the sharty over 2021 doe

even though teenagers are still le edgy
