Discussion Movies you think are overrated

Soyteen Liker

it's just getting started
For me it's Jurassic Park, at least the first movie (I haven't seen the rest.) I get that the CGI was really good for it's release but it struck me like it was trying to have a "Humanity was too preoccupied with what they can do, that they forgot what they shouldn't do" message, yet the movie didn't really touch upon this very much. Maybe I'm misremembering but it felt like half the movie was just them trying to escape the dinosaurs and not get killed, it felt more like an action movie but the action wasn't interesting other than visually. It wasn't a bad movie by any means, I just don't get why people see it as a classic or a greatest of all time.

shut up u clearly don't remember the part where donald gennaro said auto-erotica instead of animatronics because he wasn't up-to-date with the times, this clearly means something deeper about gennaro's character development and lines and made it even more heartbreaking when he was eaten by the tyrannosaurus

also, by the way, in 20 hours i am going to spend 40 quid on the seasonal pass for charlie the velociraptor, released new in jurassic world: the game.
all of this because of the incredibly detailed writing of the jurassic park films.

it is my own money, by the way, you guys probably use your parent's allowance for these types of purchases, not me, i'm getting paid very well in my high-rise skyscraper financial advisor job.

Requiem for a Dream, without a doubt. Some of the plotlines made no sense whatsoever, and I felt no empathy whatsoever for the addicts in this case. Like, I seriously just do not care that some random whores and gangsters got addicted to drugs and the inevitable consequences followed. I did not understand why the main character's mother thought that she was going to be on television BEFORE getting on drugs, if she didn't hallucinate it then what happened there at all? I thought that the mini-series "Dopesick" more accurately portrayed drug addiction and how it could happen to the average man, and it was overall more interesting. Requiem for a Dream on the other hand is easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I just cannot see myself being empathetic towards criminals and whores who get addicted to drugs for fun, so I fail to connect with the movie.

Which continuity? I enjoyed the 2018 reboot.
2018 reboot was good, I forgot about that one. I haven't seen the other two films in that series doebeit.
I would say pretty much everything released between 1982 and 2002, first H20 movie was alright for what it was and Rob Zombie's interpretation while interesting is just fucking edgy for the sake of being edgy.

I would watch the sequel (Halloween Kills) but forget about Halloween Ends, I didn't think it was very good.
