You could theorically host it off your computer but you have to port forward

You could probably use any old computer laying around, such as an old laptop. I'd imagine a BBS wouldn't require much power, so if your ISP is ok with self-hosting, it should be very easy to connect something together. Idk how you'd hide your IP address unless you wanted to use CloudFlare though, which could be an issue.

I've got a fuckton of old laptops and 2 of those slim work pcs school computer labs and cash registers use
