I know theres a thread for Black Metal, but this is for metal in general. Personally, I'm a massive, MASSIVE metalhead. Particularly Cryptopsy, Primus and Sepultura. ITT just discuss metal albums and bands.

Aryan, meshuggah has consistently remained in my top 3 metal bands tbh

Infant Annihilator is just one of the best bands when it comes to composition of music alone, not playing (they probably can't play their own shit consistently), I fucking love this band so much, evendoe their lyrics are filthy. Also on my top 3, and their last album, the battle of Yaldabaoth is by far my favourite from them.
They said they'd be releasing a new album end of '23, still hasn't come out lol.

Gojira is quite good too though I can get bored of it quite quickly. It's too, but muh french band so I'm obligated to say I like them. Their latest release has been meh imo.
I think I prefer some good ol' deathcore like Chelsea Grin or some techdeath like Archspire, it's more interesting imo.

Also, here is a short list of some christian metal bands that are quite decent imo: Impending Doom for deathcore (their earlier stuff is better than the new stuff imo), August Burns Red for metalcore, Renascent for blackened death metal, skillet for hard rock, theocracy for power metal, and there's probably more out there, but those are the bands that I listen to still, that really are christian.

Renascent in particular is the band that got me into metal, they put whole Bible passages into songs, and they made a song where the lyrics are my favourite psalm, psalm 139.
