have any of you ever done it? i've been invited to some meetup by a group of people i play games with. it's like 700 miles away from me and i don't know if i should attend. i get along with then fairly well and we all voice call a lot but i think my autism is a lot less evident when i'm hiding behind a monitor.
it's in the same country obv. im gonna have to learn a bunch of adult skills like how to buy a plane ticket, how to navigate an airport, how to book a hotel room, and basically i'll be forcing myself to think/act like an adult (am 18).
i dont get along well with most people irl and havent made an irl friend since middle school. it sounds really scary but ill do anything for a chance of having genuine fun and happiness at this point.

I saw Angeleno at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I've met a few of my online friends in real life, but that was after 7+ years of knowing them. Meeting Ange was the first time I met someone that quickly, but I was already headed down where he was and it was a good time to see a cool dude in person.

i see. ive only known these dudes for about 2 months (although the meetup is scheduled for the end of summer) but i really do like spending time with them.
out of curiosity was it awkward when you actually saw them in person for the first time? interacting with people irl is much different and im worried about my personality having issues "transferring over"

The 2b2t update to 1.19 was the last straw for me for that game, I still listen to the music thougheverbeit, and the only other game I play now is geometry dash since the update was mid instead of negative, although I'm beginning to get tired of video games as a whole because there's not a lot of profitability or sustainabiltiy within them and the whole "escape into another world" feels increasingly fake, real life is becoming more and more appealing since you can actually build structures in real life and have fireworks and what not, and ironically enough the main appeal for video games for me is starting to manifest and rebirth itself to what real life is, since real life is also dependent on the math you see in games, like a plane when it calculates things, there's black people in real life too, sure, but ever since the aquisition of Microsoft' purchase of Minecraft, ironically enough I proportionally see them less in real life now, and those griefing skills can be used for mud slinging in real life politics now, real life also doesn't have lag which is nice

Closest thing I've ever gotten to meeting someone IRL was learning that some guy I somewhat knew online was actually a guy in my high school. Small world
There is one online friend I have that I wanna meet, I wanna book a plane ticket and show up unannounced at the Walmart he works at, but I have like college and stuff
Anyways doing stuff like booking plane tickets isn't so bad, just https://matrix.itasoftware.com/search and find some airports that are near where the meet up is, and navigating airports is easy enough, especially if you don't bring any check-ins
