Sonic Generations's rendition of Speed Highway is honestly kind of disappointing. The level itself is pretty fun but I hate that it doesn't represent the third act of the level in any meaningful way, which sucks as it's my favorite part of the level in SA1. In addition we didn't really need another city level in the game, City Escape is already there and it's more recognizable than Speed Highway. I would've put Ice Cap in it's place, the snowboard section is pretty epic and there's no ice levels in the game to begin with

that part was there to cool you down after the building segment, without its just sovlless.

The building segment was in the Generations version of the level as well, and the lack of the dawn section in Generations makes that version of the level more soulless

I don't think they're even going to touch the original game in the remaster, all the footage of the game looked the exact same as the PC version
If they do touch something, I hope they replace some of the awful MIDI music you can get in the game with their Genesis/GBA versions, most of them sound like shit

(some actually sound okay though, I think the MIDI version of Toxic Caves is better than the original)
