Maybe it's their only outlet for what they've experienced or their safe space from the harsh reality that is the real world. At the end of the day, there needs to be some form of regulation for Internet access for young children.

I think it is mostly an outlet for them to sperg out in a way they could never do in real life among a concentrated group of people who share similar and niche interests. For example calling people any conceivable racial slur on the Booru while making and posting slopjaks of people you don't like.
