KSP had been bought by take2 publishing for a good while and they made a bid to have the second game produced and after a few years of kerfuffle the game ended up being worked on by some in house studio called intercept games and when they pushed the game it came out a buggy disaster that undersold and underdelivered to the fans and didn't cater to the newbies, it was critically panned and after around a year of development post-launch take2 interactive shut down the studio and the game has been in limbo ever since.
